NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Lifeway Christian Resources announced the appointment of Kim Massey as its new chief marketing officer.
“Kim brings a wealth of marketing expertise that will be invaluable to Lifeway in this new season of ministry and as we continue to lift up our new brand,” said Lifeway President and CEO Ben Mandrell. “Her proven experience in designing successful digital strategies and in global leadership will be a huge asset to Lifeway.”
As Lifeway’s first chief marketing officer, Massey is responsible for the strategic direction, development and execution of Lifeway’s brand and marketing strategy. She will partner with other executive leaders to influence sales and e-commerce strategies and to improve the customer journey experience.
Mandrell said the new CMO role is critical to Lifeway’s strategic focus as the organization leans into the e-commerce space and looks to reach new customers. “Kim brings both creative and strategic marketing acumen to this role.”
Massey has more than 13 years of experience with top Fortune 500 companies. She began her career with Citigroup as a sales trader and later transitioned to PepsiCo where she gained valuable marketing experience and served on the PepsiCo CMO Council. She comes to Lifeway from Kimberly-Clark in Atlanta where she served in global Bath Tissue and Skincare roles.
Massey has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Management & Organization with honors from Spelman College in Atlanta. A native Nashvillian, Massey is a graduate of The Harpeth Hall School and an alumna of Nashville’s Youth About Business organization, where she currently serves on the advisory board.
“I am honored and humbled to serve as the first CMO of Lifeway, a household name I grew up with. I believe in Ben Mandrell, the leadership team, and our ability to unlock and deliver on our customer needs,” Massey said. “I could not be joining at a better time. Lifeway is primed for growth, and I’m thrilled to be an integral part of this historic transformation.”
Lifeway’s Board of Trustees confirmed Massey during their August 2021 trustee meeting.
“Kim has a proven track record as a strong and collaborative leader. I’m excited to have her join our team,” Mandrell said. “Her heart for serving the local church combined with her skill set and experience make Kim uniquely suited to build Lifeway’s brand and expand our reach as we seek to fuel local church ministry.”
