NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Lifeway Women events are getting ready to hit the road in 2022 as they host four tours, visiting 12 cities for a total of 20 events this year.
Every Lifeway Women event is a place for women to study Scripture with their favorite Bible teachers, grow in knowledge of who God is, laugh with friends and leave invigorated to follow God’s calling. After more than 500 days away from in-person events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lifeway Women launched a full calendar of events in Fall 2021 and is excited to bring this same energy and excellence into this year’s events.
“We’ve come to know these women well over the past 25 years, and though the times have certainly changed, we have stayed connected to their evolving needs, struggles and joys,” said Betsy Langmade, manager of Lifeway Women events. “Our events were founded on the pillars of worship, Bible teaching and prayer. And while we’re constantly striving to elevate the experience for women, those three things remain.”
Lifeway Women focuses on designing trustworthy experiences that fuel ministry to women. Langmade said all the work that goes into planning these experiences is intended to set the table for women to encounter God. Lifeway Women events are for any women who want to be encouraged in their spiritual development.
“We see women from all walks of life—all ages and stages—who participate in these events,” said Becky Loyd, director of Lifeway Women. “Many of these women come with burdens and needs and walk away encouraged and renewed after their experience. It’s truly a work of the Holy Spirit.”
Loyd said God uses the speakers and worship leaders at these events to touch hearts and draw women to Himself, and Lifeway Women is privileged to partner with some of the best Bible teachers in the country.
The Lifeway Women team is on a mission to make sure women leave their events with a connection to a church or a group of women who they can study the Bible with. Langmade said that by connecting with local churches in the city, the Lifeway Women team leaves behind a mechanism to encourage women to take the next step in their relationship with God.
“When a church brings a group of women, they have a unique opportunity to not only be impacted individually but as a group, and that builds unity and camaraderie,” Langmade said.
Besides hearing from gifted teachers, women who attend a Lifeway Women event learn about resources to help them continue in their discipleship journey as they leave the event. That’s why Lifeway Women provides stores at these events where women can purchase Bibles, books, kids’ resources and more.
“We invest in these women because we believe that women who are grounded in God’s Word and growing in relationship with Him are part of God’s plan for humanity to flourish,” Loyd said. “We find that events give women time away from their day-to-day lives and that makes their hearts open to whatever the Lord has planned for them.”
Lifeway Women events are one way the Lifeway Women team seeks to fulfill their mission of reminding women of who they are in Christ and equipping them to respond. These events are designed to be catalysts for spiritual growth.
“I’ve watched over and over as women sit in the seats listening to God’s Word being taught—their eyes light up; sometimes tears fall; they write feverishly in their journal or smile at the friend sitting next to them,” Langmade said. “That’s when you know that God has taken His Word and divided it thousands of ways to meet each woman there at their point of need.”
This year’s events will kick off the weekend of April 8-9 with three events in Jackson, Miss., and Charlotte, N.C.
The weekend of events will start on April 8 with You Lead in Jackson. At You Lead, women who lead in ministry, the marketplace, their communities or their homes will get real-life application from experts coupled with unique breakout sessions so women can customize their You Lead experience for the context to which God is calling them.
The following day, April 9, best-selling author and renowned Bible teacher, Priscilla Shirer will kick off her Going Beyond Live tour in Jackson. At this event, women seeking Jesus will experience God and be revived by Him during teaching sessions with Shirer and powerful worship led by Anthony Evans. This year, Lifeway Women will host eight You Lead events and four Going Beyond Live events through the end of September.
Also that weekend, Glory with Jackie Hill Perry will debut in Charlotte, April 8-9. Glory is a women’s event about God, not self. In a world of self-help and self-exploration, Perry will teach the doctrine of who God is and who women are in light of Him. Lifeway Women will host four additional Glory events in Fall 2022.
Lifeway Women Live will begin a few weekends later in Orlando, Fla., on April 30. The theme for this year’s three Lifeway Women Live events is “Pursuing Christ Together.” In each city, women will explore a different way they pursue Christ together as a community of believers—in grace, prayer and joy. April’s Lifeway Women Live will feature speakers Jen Wilkin, Jackie Hill Perry, Kelly Minter, Jennifer Rothschild, Kristi McLelland, Jada Edwards and Courtney Doctor. Wildfire Worship Collective will be leading worship, and Ellie Holcomb will appear as a special musical guest. Speakers will vary per event, but this is the place for women to meet like-minded women, study God’s Word with their favorite authors and have a whole lot of fun while doing it. Women can also come early for one-day, You Lead leadership training as a pre-conference event.
“It’s so encouraging to be in the room with women who are worshiping, listening to and responding to what the Lord is calling them to do,” Loyd said. “We’re ready to have full venues with thousands of women together lifting up our great God. We lost the ability to be together during the COVID-19 pandemic, but we are poised and ready to be back together again.”
Lifeway Women events are scheduled in Jackson, Miss.; Charlotte, N.C.; Orlando, Fla.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Atlanta, Ga.; Chicago, Ill.; Greensboro, N.C.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Louisville, Ky.; Las Vegas, N.V.; Baltimore, Md. and Jacksonville, Fla.
