NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lifeway Christian Resources has been recognized on Newsweek’s list of Best Online Shops for the fourth year in a row. Lifeway.com landed at No. 11 in the category of media (e.g., books, CDs, DVDs, software) on the 2023 list announced on October 12, 2022.
Lifeway CEO Ben Mandrell said the recognition highlights the investments made to continue improving the website for customers.
“Winning this award for a fourth year in a row is a huge accomplishment for our team,” said Mandrell. “I could not be more thankful for the work of our marketing and technology leaders who have given countless hours to improve our online customer experience. While we still have room to grow, we are thankful for the progress, and grateful for this award.”
Lifeway’s Chief Information Technology Officer, Jamie Adams, said providing an exceptional digital experience across all e-commerce channels that is frictionless and personalized is part of a broader strategy. “One of our biggest customer complaints with Lifeway.com was related to search performance,” she said. To address this, Adams said her team implemented a new search engine on the website and the organization added new job roles related to website development and enhancement.
“Since then, we have seen a 72% increase, year-over-year, in search conversion rate,” she said. “We have also focused on building trust and credibility with our customers by collecting and displaying product ratings and reviews on our site.”
Adams said the organization, and particularly the IT team, are humbled by this recognition. “This award is a testament to the exceptional leaders and team members we have at Lifeway and their cross-functional collaboration,” she said. “I am honored to serve with the individuals who have worked so hard to execute our strategy and vision for an exceptional digital experience across all e-commerce channels.”
To identify the top online shops, Newsweek partnered with market research company Statista. Statista performed detailed testing of each online shop based on 51 objective and subjective criteria. In addition to the website testing, more than 6,000 American online shoppers were surveyed.
Survey participants were asked to evaluate online shops on trust and security, structure and usability, payment, purchase and delivery, service and communication, technical performance and likelihood of purchase. Out of the thousands of online retailers Statista evaluated, only 1,000 have been awarded among eight industries and 39 categories.
