CSB Women’s Study Bible Provides New Study Content by Women, for Women

November 20, 2025

By Jill Waggoner

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Holman Bible Publishers will release the CSB Women’s Study Bible on January 1, 2026, offering an unparalleled resource for female students of the Scriptures.

This full-color edition combines the highly readable Christian Standard Bible (CSB) text with robust study tools written by women scholars and ministry leaders. Holman Bible Publishers is the oldest Bible publisher in North America and an imprint of Lifeway Christian Resources.

“The CSB Women’s Study Bible was uniquely crafted and designed—from cover to cover—in order to help equip women to engage deeply and meaningfully with God’s Word,” said Andy McLean, publisher for Holman Bibles. “This project reflects not only our continued commitment to increasing biblical literacy through the curation of robust material found throughout this study Bible, but also our commitment to the stewardship and display of beauty within our products.”

Unlike recent women’s editions, this Bible features brand-new notes and articles written by an all-female team of conservative evangelical biblical, historical and linguistic scholars. Stefana Dan Laing, associate professor of divinity in patristics and spiritual formation at Beeson Divinity School, served as general editor.

“Readers will benefit from the expertise of Bible scholars who specialize in Old and New Testament language and theology, theologians who bring depth and clarity of doctrinal truth, and historians who bring forward aspects of God’s providential work over millennia in the lives of those called by His name,” said Laing.

Women’s ministry leaders from across the nation provided articles for application, ensuring relevant insights for today’s readers.

“The aim is to help women engage Scripture deeply and confidently,” said Ashley Gorman, one of the contributors. Highlights include:

  • More than 8,000 study notes crafted by female scholars
  • 96 profiles highlighting influential Christians throughout history
  • Over 180 “Closer Look” callouts for deeper cultural and theological context
  • More than 70 word studies of key biblical terms
  • 34 full-length articles addressing essential truths and topics for women
  • Rich visual elements: charts, timelines, maps and photography

“We pray this resource offers timeless truth with excellent, robust commentary written for women by women that addresses the needs of today,” said Mary Wiley, contributor and associate publisher for B&H Books.
